    Hi,

    Do you need clarity on methodology using hyperworks or any other specific doubts?

    For methodology, you can go for doing certain tutorials in Hyperworks-optistruct module.

    For this kind of part, with rather small thickness, I think you can do your analysis with SHELL elements.

    Extract mid surfaces and do the mesh. There're some tutorials within Hypermesh's help.

    Extract midsurface using Geometry : Midsurface option & refer Optistruct 1020 tutorial for modal analysis.

    Actually I have only one doubt in modal analysis that what is the physical importance of eigen mode values and what is the unit of it. I have attached the file of values.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>eigen mode for Al.JPG

    The thermal analysis results found are lot more than expected value and the shape of the model changes brutally. The temperature is 150°C only and material is aluminum 6061

    In modal analysis, the Displacement amplitude is not so important, but the look give you the form of vibration mode.

    In general, the unit of frequency is Hz (number of vibration cycle per second)
