Velocity profile in boundary condition

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to define a velocity profile as a boundary condition in AcuSolve (using either Hypermesh in the AcuSolve user profile or AcuConsole).

Basically I need to define a boundary layer at my inlet, and would like to control its shape as I please.

1. If you use inflow type average velocity, mass flux, or flow rate a profile at the inlet is generated as part of the solve process.

2. If you would like to specifically define an inlet profile, you'll need to use Nodal Boundary Condition on the inlet surface for the desired velocity component(s) with type user function. You would then define the desired profile in the user function. If the profile can be defined as a function of a single quantity, you may also be able to make the NBC of type linear.

It was very helpfull.

Using the NBC type Linear, I see that I must input the array desired and I can do this with a .dat file previously generated, exactly what I needed !

I am currently doing a similar simulation but am new to Altair. The guideline given by acupro, is it done in Hypermesh or in AcuConsole?

Probably AcuConsole. Not sure if the latest HyperMesh has the functionality yet. You could look in HyperMesh 2017.3.

HyperMesh 2017.3 does support Nodal Boundary Condition of the type Linear.
