Mass or volume fraction

Hello every one,

I'm running a topology optimization with a min compliance and volume or mass fraction constraint. Do you know why the mass or volume fraction recommanded is 0.3  or less?

    Hi LMTOU,

     

    Since, most of the optimization goal is to use less material and give more stiffness for a given loading condition. We use mass or VF constrain around 0.3 most of the time. But it is not always recommended. Mass and VF constrain depends on the individual design (i.e. constrains can vary depending on nature of design).
