Bicycle Frame-remote loading and connection of beam and shell elements

Hello,

I am working on a bicycle frame. I have created the frame geometry and meshed it ready for analysis. But I need to apply the forces at remote locations away from the frame(eg at the handle bar, at the pedals). I tried resolving the forces at the head tube and bottom bracket but the strain results were not desirable.

I plan to use line members and mesh it to represent the fork and the handlebars to reduce meshing complexity and computation time. Attached is the photo of a similar model. So, how do I create the line members and connect them to my existing model, the 1D elements to 2D shell elements of the frame?

Is this a good strategy or is there a better way to effectively transfer the forces and get a desirable result?

Thank You

    Hi Sachin,

You can use RBEs to connect BEAM and Shell elements.
