Tetrahedron Elements - Isolid - Itetra
Hi all,
I saw that in v14 a new solid property option has been introduced : Itetra, a 4-node tetrahedron formulation flag. I set it to 1.
My Isolid is 17, not supported for tetras, so it goes back to default : 1 (= Standard 8-node solid element, one integration point); Which to me already seems strange as it is for 8-node elements... But does it even take into account my Itetra ?
My question is:
Isolid says 1 integration point
Itetra says 4 integration points.
Which one is taken into account here ?
Thank you in advance,
Alice

Hi Alice,
For tetra elements choose tetra element formulation, Itetra and Isolid is not used for tetra elements.

Hello George,
I did not know this exists. How is it called ? Is that a property ?
Thank you very much for your reply.

Hi Alice,
Similar to Isolid, which is to choose hex element formulation, with Itetra option user can select the tetra element formulation.

Hi George,
Ok so this is what I did.
So if I indicate Isolid = 17 (or other) it will not take it into account, rihgt ?
But I get warnings because of this Isolid = 17 ... if I put it to 0 it will take 1, which I don't want either. I juste want it not to take into account Isolid, but Itetra, which I thought it would do...
Can you explain please ?
