Hi there,

I have an issue with the latest Radioss v12.

I am doing analysis on compression spring using radioss block100 format. My model involves shell, solid & rigid elements as well as contact type 7.

My problem is towards the end of solver run (spring is getting compressed) i get an increasing energy error (till 99%). This is only happened when i use Radioss v12, whereas Radioss v11 wouldn't give me that problem. Can someone clarify me on this?

p/s: I am using the AMS option for time step in bpth solver version.

Thank you in advance.

mfg,

Saifulss

I'm having the same problem with v12.  One of my models has huge negative spring internal energy, although I can't find negative energy in any of the springs.  Another has huge positive spring energy.  Model results don't look so bad.  Is there a problem with spring energy calculation (and error calculation) in v12?

Thanks for the quick response.  If I change my model over to HW2017 will I still get the same problem?

    Hi David,

A similar issue was reported for 2017 version also. In the next updated version this will be fixed.

If you can provide the files I can run the files in latest version (2017.2 version) and can update you.
