ribs creation for topology

Hi All,

 

This is regarding the topology optimsation.

 

I would like to know how can i create the ribs in the part after i got the isosurface from the topology optimisation.(Shells)

 

Since the part is a casted and i want the ribs to be extruded in particular direction(Not in global axis) and should be extruded in both the direction(Positive and negative)

 

One more Thing is that the new ribs should have the connectivity with the base mesh.

 

Can any one let me know the steps to do this as i have so many rib patterns for a different loadcases.

We generally talk about ribs during topography optimization,

 

in any case, once the optimization is done one must use OSSMOOTH to interpret the optimization results, to create geometries at varying densities etc 

 

Read about OSSMOOTH in the help, the optistruct optimization tutorials also discuss this in some detail, the free Ebooks on hyperworks http://www.altairuniversity.com/free-study-guide-book/  related topics in this forum etc

 

There is also a Ribs panel in the geometry page of HyperMesh to create ribs
