How to import a new volume into existing simulation session?
Hi,
we need to variate certain parts for thermal analysis in an existing simulation case. I haven't found a way to import a new component into an existing simulation case in Parasolid format. It's extremely time consuming to start from the beginning with all the geometry changed. Please advice how to delete the old component version and import the new version of a single component for an existing simulation case.

HyperMesh would be the best solution to import new geometry into existing mesh and then to mesh the imported part. After the imported part is meshed, you could use Boolean Operations in HyperMesh to connect the two meshes.

If you are using AcuConsole for meshing and solver setup, following would work:
- open existing .acs database
- delete all geometry and mesh (AcuConsole > Edit)
- old mesh settings and solver settings will be retained
- Import the new parasolid geometry
- reassign the newly imported surface and volumes (to the existing ones in .acs)
- mesh in AcuConsole
- start solver.
Hope this helps. In case this is not what you looking for, please describe your situation or contact your local Altair support in Sweden.
