Hello,

I'm doing a topology optimisation where I minimize the compliance and restrict volumfrac to 50%. Now I want to put the minimal density to 45% (->MINDENS =0.45). Unfortunately I get an error message: 'ERROR 2150 ... Invalid volume or mass constraint'

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi @fabistud

    Why do you want to use 45% as MINDENS?

    I think this is moving the mass that can be used for optimization to negative. You need to reduce the MINDENS.

    Hi Prakash Pagadala,

    the problem is that I have different types of concrete with different densities. The lightest one has 45% of the density of the heaviest one. My idea was to do a topology optimization after which I can evaluate where I should put the different concrete types. The aim ist to reduce the weight of a concrete beam to an optimum.

    When I start the topology optimisation without any MINDENS setting, the lowest density is 1%. So I want these lowest densities set to 45%.

    @fabistud

    In that case, try reducing the MINDENS or increase the volume fraction for design space to move the material limit from negative.
