for 3D composite analysis how to check failure index? if its not possible, what is the parameter to be checked to ensure safety of design? i mean in 3D analysis of metals we check for Von-Mises stresses like wise what we have to check in 3D composite analysis?

Hi Nitish,

CFAILURE, SRCOMPS is not available for 3D elements (MAT9),

I will check and update to you soon if there is a better way to get the failure results for 3D elements within HV.

I would like to ask the question again.

I'm using Hypermesh 2017.2 and Optistruct as solver.

Is it now possible to get failure result for 3D composites, modeled with MAT9ORT and PCOMPLS (= each ply as a solid)?
