Defining center of gravity as a constraint

Hello,

I am working on an optimization problem of a blade. One of my constraints will be centre of gravity. I would like to keep the cog at 1/4 of the chord. I am having trouble in understanding how to define the upper and lower limits of cg. Should they be the coordinates? If so on whicj plane and how can I define the reference point to find out what the coordinates are?

Thank you,

Muge

    Hi Prakash,

How can I define a reference point to determine the coordinates in HyperMesh?

    Thanks,

    Muge

    Hi Muge,

Not sure what do you mean by reference point.. Could you please explain.

    Hello Prakash,

Since you said the C.G location will be based on coordinates (on x,y,z planes), I was wondering if I should select a 0,0,0 point as reference on the geometry to identify C.G coordinates based on that? Or, is there a tool that does this automatically?

    Thanks,

    Hi Muge,

CG will be calculated. All you have to do is to provide the upper and lower bounds.
