Optimization with Bolt Pretension
Hi All,
I was trying to do Topology optimization with Bolt pretension. Using 1d bolt(cbar). Having two sub-cases. subcase-1 will be pretension, subcase-2 will have load, spc and STATSUB(PRETENS).
Responses- VF, Mass Fraction
Constraint- 0.30 VF on Design space
Objective - min(mass fraction) on design space
Des var- assigning stress value on Design Space
But, the job is coming out with error.
*** ERROR # 320 ***
Static load case 3 has prescribed displacements.
The combination of global stress constraints and prescribed displacements
is not meaningful. Optimization cannot be performed.
Kindly, help me on this issue. My objective was weight reduction where Bolt pretension load should be considered. Thanks in advance.

Hi Vivekanand,
Looks like you have enforced displacement in your model and there is compatibility issue with enforced displacement and global stress constraint.
Can you share the entire out file?
Instead, can you use equivalent force and run the job?
