Questions about Load Map

Good morning:

I've recently started working with Hyperlife and I've got some questions regarding Load Map section:

1. What is LDM and what is its relationship with the load of the subcase?

2. The subcase's loads that don't vary cyclicaly need to always be taken into account for fatigue or only when their contribution to the mean stress wants to be considered? How would you represent them in the Load History with Hyperlife?

3. If in a subcase instead of a punctual load I have a pressure or moment applied and I want to create a fatigue event from that, do I need to change the values of the magnitude from N/mm^2 or N*mm to N for both the load history and LDM? I say this because the plots for the load history are in Newtons vs time and I  haven't found a way to change the units.

Thank you for your time

    Hi,

    1. this is a scale factor applyed in the load (FEA)

    2. You can add a constant Amplitude in the channel Type and then link it to the constant subcases. It's recommanded to include them, you won't have to bother if you should have imported them or not.

    3. If the load history is in Newton Vs Time, this means that you should rather define a subcase with unitary Force and connect this force with a RBE3 to your structure. Or you can also devide your Data by the area of the pressure zone, this can be done by changing the Scale (data) or LDM (load) magnitude
