Calculation of IPMSM reluctance torque

Dear support team,

I have simulated an IPMSM in Flux in transient magnetic mode and plotted its torque waveform at its specific current angle. Since the torque produced by IPMSMs consists of two components, magnetic torque and reluctance torque, I want to plot its reluctance torque at the same current angle. Is it possible to perform this analysis in Flux? How can I do this?

I would be grateful if you could help me with this. Thank you.

Best regards

    Hi Amina,

Yes, it should be possible. For the same model just turn off the magnets (consider them air or vacuum regions) and run the simulation and calculate the torque. this is should be your reluctance torque.

    Thanks,
