Specifying spawn angle of meta-particles (with hyperstudy)

Dear all,

 

I am trying to test the stability of my meta particles based on the angle at which they impact the floor. EDEM offers a feature that lets me specify the spawn angles using a rotation matrix (defining this is very tedious itself, and I would much rather specify xyz angles instead of using an online rotation matrix calculator)

But, using the EDEM-Hyperstudy connector, I get the following under factory options:

The fact that four parameters contain orientation suggests they are not XYZ angles? How are these related to the orientation matrix in EDEM and how do I set up a study that varies spawn angles x,y and z between 0 and 2pi?

    Hi Matthias,

    In EDEM you can specify the particle orientation using a 3x3 matrix but under the hood EDEM uses quaternions to do the calculations. It seems to me that the HyperStudy Connector is actually picking up those quaternions instead of the 3x3 matrix.
