Thanks to Steve's help I've got a table in DPS that looks like this

Some assignments have more than one deduction and I need to subtotal the deduction amounts (ignore the last column) before combining data from another table in a join.  I can do the subtotalling in a summary but then I don't think I can treat that summary as a table.  I guess I could export the summary and bring it back in to the workspace as a new table but it would be nice to avoid that step if possible.

Is there a way of getting a subtotal in the table - or am I going about this in completely the wrong way?

Hello Andy,

You should be able to use the Group function that is under the transform tab. Assignment number is key, and then checkmark next to any fields you need retained in the report with the Deduction Amount aggregate type drop down of SUM. Below is a really simplified version.
