Good afternoon,

I have a question concerning the connectors in Inspire. What's the difference between rigid and flexible connectors ?

Thanks in advance

    Hi!

Connectors link points, edges, or faces to each other, and are shown as red lines radiating from a central point. They are generally used to connect two parts together, or to apply a load or support at a distance.

For flexible connectors, the relative position of the connector with respect to the part that it links to is not fixed. For instance, if the object that you are analyzing is connected to another part using a cable or a chain (any flexible part) then you would use the flexible connector.

For rigid connectors, the relative position of the connector with respect to the part that it links to is fixed. For instance, if the object that you are analyzing is connected to another part by the means of a solid rod, if it is bolted rigidly (any means which restricts relative motion between the parts) then you would use the rigid connector.
