MLFMM with FEM and MoM

Hi,

I wish to integrate MLFMM with MoM and FEM. However, I am confused with the options given in the CADFEKO.

In the region properties box (diagram above), there is an option for MoM/MLFMM (so I assume that MoM is integrated with MLFMM).

However, in the Solver Setting box, there is another option for MLFMM

Do I still need to tick the solve model with MLFMM option? I am not sure with the differences between the two figures?

Is it same for FEM method as well?

Thank you

The region properties has to do with the meshing.

MoM/MLFMM with SEP does surface meshing and this mesh will be suitable for either MoM or MLFMM (based on whether you enable MLFMM on Solver Sttings -> MLFMM/ACA)

Likewise, if you choose FEM on the region settings, a tetrahedral mesh will be generated suitable for FEM. If MLFMM is disabled on Solver Settings, this will then be a FEM/MoM solution. If MLFMM is enabled on Solver Settings, it will be a FEM/MLFMM solution.

Volume equivalence also creates a tetrahedral mesh, but this is still a MoM or MLFMM solution (based on whether you activate MLFMM) and not compatible with FEM.
