it is possible to set up a topological optimization so that in output it uses predefined structures ?

Hello all,

is there a way to force the software to optimize the design space by creating only a certain type of structure?

for example, having a rectangular plate loaded transversely on the long sides, you can say you want only vertical elements (like columns / beams)?

thanks

    actually not.

Optimization will seek the best answer for your problem, and it should be as free as possible.

One thing that you could do in Inspire is to add some manufacturing constraints, such as 'extrusion' control, so that in your example, the material is always used following a certain direction, as it was a extruded profile.

Do you think this helps you?
