Explanation of the weighting factor of a RBE3 element

Hello everybody,

I am relatively new in Hypermesh. Can somebody explain me what is the meaning of the weighting factor of a RBE3 element, what does it mean 1, what does it mean when the value is 0,5 or 1,5. Changing it´s value what does it mean. And the value, what does it mean, is it distance dependent, etc.? What does it weigh?

Tnx,

BR,

Mario

Weighting factor for components of motion on the following entry at grid points Gi,j.

WTi is used as a weighting factor for the grid points in the group. If a simple distribution based only on the geometry of the RBE3 is desired then a uniform weight is applied to all points. The weighting factors are not required to add up to any specific value.

    Thank you Yuvi.

So if I change the value of weighting factor to 0.5 or 1.5, there will be no change due to the results. It is not affecting the results?

If I would change the position of the dependent node from the independent nodes, lets say the distance, that is affecting the results, or? And why?
