Does Tetra Mesh ever gets stuck in an optimization loop for anyone? And how do you make sure that doesn't happen?

Hello community,

My tetra mesh code gets me stuck in an infinite loop of optimization. However, this only occurs maybe every 3rd time I run tetra mesh. Has anyone ever had this problem and dealt with it? My experience is that if I raise my maximum tetra mesh parameter, this occurs less frequently. However, I need to have my maximum size limited.

Sincerely, William

    Hello William,

Are you referring to this tool?

How "aggressive" are you on the settings?

No. I am simply using 3D tetramesh and its settings below. The lower the I reduce the max tetra size, the more likely it will get stuck in an endless loop.

I am not sure it is "getting stuck in a loop" as it is more likely creating a very large number of elements that can take a very long time. Pick a reasonable value based on your model size and you can disable Max tetra size unless you need that for some reason.

I have ran it over night and it still wouldn't finish running. When it works, it finishes in less than 20 seconds. It's consistent and distinct. I have a powerful workstation computer and my total element size is in the hundreds of thousands.
