Hi all,

Right now i am working on a very complex geometry and my objective is to carry optimization for this model .I have meshed it using .5 mm element size and got 4,500,000 elements and now i have got a problem with grafik display option ,with this heavy model i am not able to work with it the usual way i.e. not able to rotate ,move the model the usual way and most of the features are taking ages to work.Kindly provide me a solution to proceed further ,i have tried working with the wireframe mode also but that also is slow.I cant reduce the element size and i have enough memory 16 Gb of ram .

    Hi,

I do not think that you will be able to handle 450 million(!) elements with any preprocessor in a efficient way. Even you ware able to create such a huge number of model, you most probably will not be able to run an optimization on this.

    My 2cents,

    Hi there,

it's a very big model. I've ever work with full car model ~1.6 millions of elems

yours is 3times bigger. I think you should use a small super computer.

    does your approach have problem???

usually in first stage of design, we just mesh the model with coarse elems

then find out the week areas, then remesh the week areas with finer elems

0.5mm mesh size at beginning stage is too expensive

    so you should consider again
