Hey,

i would like to simulate a 3 point bending test of a composite plate. I am now wondering if there is the possibility to increase the force until the laminate failure criteria reaches 1?

Thank you!

Usually we take a look at failure index, where above 1.0 indicates failure.

I you're requesting PARAM,SRCOMP you can also compute Strenght Ratio of your laminate.

This would give you a good idea on how much more you could load to your laminate.

If SR is 1.20, it would mean that you have 20% margin on load to your failure index 1.0.

    Where do i find these? I am new to Altair and still learning :)/emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20' />

You can use Ctrl+F and type PARAM and select it.

The it will create the card PARAM in the browser and you need to check PARAM, SRCOMP, YES or something like this.

Also you need to add Global Output Requests (Ctrl+F) and ask for CFAILURE, CSTRESS and CSTRAIN in H3D format.

Please take a look at Alrair University, and download the ebook for composite analysis.

There you will find these and other informations.
