volume meshing using known boundaries

Hi,

I am trying to create a tetrahedral volume mesh between two components (red and green coloured geometries), I am aiming to have the hexahedral nodes as fixed for the new tetrahedral elements.

I was thinking to extract the inner surface of the red component and then have a closed volume to generate the mesh, my problem I even couldn't find a way how to extract this inner surface?

Could anyone help, please!

Many thanks,

Farah

use the command Tool >> faces and pick your hexa mesh component.

It will generate a shell mesh over the hexa faces. Then you can delete the unnecessary elements and keep only the internal faces, that will be used to compose a closed volume for your tet mesh.

    Thanks Adriano,

unfortunately, when I tried to create volume mesh it seems my volume was not closed, I tried to find the edges and create equivalence but still did not work.

Is there any automatic way to close the volume and create the mesh?

    Many thanks,
