Moment of inertia

Hi,

i imported a geometry as a parasolid from SolidWorks to Hypermesh. The Beam has no specific material but two given moments of inertia (Iy and Iz). How can i put these moments to the model?

    Hello,

    Moment of Inertia depends on the geometry and i dont think you can impose it.

    In HM you can check the Moment of Inertia of your model by

    Post>>Summary

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.thumb.png.b8ee3d6b3b179c1be9c7055e2fb04f68.png

    Click on load and load the mom_of_inertia

    and then click on summary.

    This will tell you the moment of inertia of your structure.

    Also you can create standard I structures like this from

    1D>>HyperBeam>>standard section

    In HyperBeam you can enter the dimensions of your structure and this will show you the Moment of Inertia also.

    If this does not help, please elaborate your query so i can help.

    Thankyou

    from moi value => calculate meterial density so you can create that material for the component
