changing conditions of simulation question

Hello

I am trying to deposit a set of particles in a box by not considering rolling friction and a value of static friction and rolling friction coefficient of say 0.5 and 0.1, respectively upto a time of t

Now i will export the simulation deck without resetting any properties and time

case 1

I introduce rolling in the physics section and run the simulation to time t1 (total time = t+t1)

case 2

I changed the static friction and rolling coefficient from 0.5 to 0.7 and 0.1 to 0.3. and run the simulation to time t2 (total time = t+t2)

Now my question is will this rolling friction physics in case 1 be applied and affect the particles after t? will the change in friction coefficient affect my particles after time t? I ask this question because before exporting the simulation deck, I did not have the rolling physics or different friction coefficients.

Please let me know

    Hi,

The new properties will be applied at the time they are applied. If you rewind the simulation back the old properties will be shown, they will only apply from the point in time you set the new values or new physics.

It's best practice to not change the values however in reality it is common practice. The physics model interactions are typically OK to change but you can't make any modifications to the particle type. This is the particle mass, size and shape. I would avoid making any changes to the particle name also.

    Regards
