Particle Physics

Hello,

Please, I am wondering if it is possible to assign different particle physics to different particles like corn cob to corn cob and corn stalk to corn stalk in EDEM.

For example, assigning the Hert mindlin model to cob to cob (particle to particle) and the hysteretic model to stalk to stalk (particle to particle).

thank you.

    Hi,

Unfortunately we can't do that by default in the current version, there is some discussion around implementing this for future versions.

If you us the Edinburgh Elasto-Plastic Adhesion Model you can set different plasticity value per material interaction.

A Contact Plasticity ratio value of zero represents elastic particle contacts, while a value of one leads to perfectly plastic particle contacts. I would recommend varying between the range 0.1-0.9 rather than going to the extremes if using this model.

or if you want to write your own API model you could combine different physics models into one library and specify the interactions that way.
