Hi

I want to know how to open Aabqus results files (.odb or .fil) with Hypermesh and then export the deformed structure in .stl format. Thanks!

Maybe, you have to open it with Hyperview, hyperview can export deformed structure

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Hyperview is able to read deformed structure from abaqus. However, it is not able to export it in the .stl format. Any idea to solve it?

    Why not?

    invoke pulldown menu Tools>Export>Iso-Surface

Or menu File>Export>Solver Deck>  select format 'STL'

You right. It does work. Thanks!

BTW, when using hypermesh, I first converted .fil into .res with the embedded tool 'hmabaqus', then I tried to load .res with hypermesh. However, the loading is always unsuccessful. Just in case, you know how to do it, please post the answer on for us to learn.

    I appreciate your reply!

I am not sure, maybe a problem in 'hmabaqus'

But since you have hyperview, I suggest you to forget hypermesh post panel soon
