Distinguish and extract surfaces of a Solid

Hi all

I  have a Solid ( the exhaust manifold) cylinder, where it seems like to be only shells but when I go to features like delete feature, it can be chosen as Solid. the adjacent pipes connected to this cylinder are already surfaces so I could extract the midsurface. how can I convert this middle solid cylinder to surface?

    HI,

The easiest way to extract surfaces from solid geometry and maintain to the solid is to:
        1) Create a component for the new surfaces
        2) Go to the Organize Panel (<Shift>+F11)
        3) Select 'Surfaces' and then select the solid component

       4) Click the 'Copy' button.
If you don't care about retaining the solid then:
        1) Go to the Delete panel (F2)
        2) Change the selection to 'Solids'
        3) Make sure the 'delete bounding surfs' check box is empty.
        4) Click the green 'delete entity' button.

    Hope this helps.
