Hi,

are there somewhere detailled informations about how to set material orientation for solid composites?

I want to model a cfrp structure which consists of winded cfrp fibers oriented to the load paths.

It is not possible to simplify the problem with shell elements. It is also not possible to create the solid composite by offsetting the shell composite.

The solid mesh I want to use is created by different cross section shell meshs and line drag.

Is there a possibility to adjust the material orientation of the solids along a line?

Do somebody have another idea how I can adjust the right orientation?

Thank you!

    Could you show your model?

My intention is not to model one special model.

I want to find a methodology how I can easily adjust the orientation of solids.

Perfect would be if it would be possible to adjust the orientation parallel to a line or node path.

Maybe someone have a script for it?

For example, lets say I want to model something like this with solids:

Did you try pulldown menu Tools>Orientation Review ?

Just a quick update. Following scripts I found are useful:

    'Change Hexa Elemental Coordinate System'

    'orient by line'

    'Show and adapt element orientation'

    'Show Hex Directions'
