Simple Mesh With Uniform Elements

Hello,

I'm trying to mesh a simple rectangular beam (200mmx50mmx50mm) with a uniform mesh throughout as seen in the example photo. When I carry out a 5mm volume tetra mesh it generates uniform elements on the surfaces but this is not the case inside as seen in the attached photo. How can I achieve a uniform element pattern throughout as seen in the example photo?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

    You should make hexa mesh, and then use panel 3d>split>solid elements, with option 'split into tetras'

    but sometimes hm generate interior nodes, so I suggest you to make 1 hexa element, split it into tetras, and then use pulldown menu Tools>Transformation Tool to generate whole component

    Hello,

    With these simple geometries, you can simply drag 2D elements.
    Menu: Mesh-> Create-> 3D Elements-> Drag (see attached picture).

    If there is no particular reason to use tetra elements, stick with hexa.

    Otherwise split it, as tinh has suggested.

    Best Regards,

    Mario
