Can I specify to Simsolid that a structure is just posed on the ground and not fixed (Immovable support ) ?(I am doing a structural analysis )
What do you mean by “posed”. In static analysis you need to remove rigid body motion of the structure. There must be sufficient boundary constraints to do this. “Immovable” removes all motions, “Sliding” removes normal motion, but allows movement along a face (tangitial directions), etc.
For a structura resting on ground, the easiest method is to just pick the surfaces that touch the ground and set them to immovable. If you want a “soft” connection, you may consider using an spring support (sometimes called and “elastic foundation”) constraint as well.
Thank you very much for your answer. I mean by posed resting on ground . I thought that immovable meant built in ! So I’ll try with that.
