Constraining a rod

Hello Guys,

I am new to HyperMesh and could use a little help .

I am working on a rod which has to be pulled from both ends and I am unable to constrain the part correctly.

Can any one please help me on where and what constraints should I give and how to apply forces on both ends to see the rod's elongation.

Any answer is appreciated.

Thank You in Advance.

    Hi Pritvi Raj,

Apply force in both +Ve Y and -Ve Y and no SPCs.

    Hi,

I see four holes in the rod.Based on the real life scenario you have to apply load & boundary condition.

Let say if Rod is completely fixed at mid two holes (create constraint with SPC with all degree of freedom checked) and for elongation at both end apply force as prakash mentioned above.

Initially refer some online Optistruct tutorials.

    Hi Pritvi Raj,

Apply force in both +Ve Y and -Ve Y and no SPCs.

Correction, If you have the rod in air and want to pull from both ends, like holding and pulling a rod in both hands.
