once the various ply(layer) have been obtained from the analysis with hyperworks on composite materials, how can these layers be exported so that they are flat to be cut on a sheet?

    Hi,

if you're using Kinematic Drape tool, you can export the flat shape as an STEP file.

but if I don't have a flat shape with this method will I export it as if it were a flat shape?

    sorry..i didn't get you qeustion.

for draping you start with your mesh of your formed part, and kinematic draping will try to recover the orientaitons, and the flat shape of your part.

Then, after that, you can see in the screen the 'flat part' in the review tab, and also export it to step file.

an ok. So when I do the draping of the skins, does it automatically calculate the flat shape of the skin? because I found the various layers with the freeform and layer placement optimizations and now I have to get the flat shapes of those layers ... I use the method you forwarded to me earlier?
