Hello,
Can you please tell me which exercise you are doing in the learning library.

It is in learning and certification tab. Mid Surfacing. I have the hypermesh file of the model. I have extracted the mid surface and I am trying to edit it. I want to move the rib like part on the yellow line but there seems to be some problem with selecting a target when there is no point or node over there? According to pdf file I just have to click and hold to select the line and then click again to select a target but that is not happening. I am attaching the pdf and model file. Refer 9. to 20. on pages 5,6,7.

Hello,
I would suggest you to update to HyperWorks 2017 Student Edition and do the HyperMesh 2017 certification exam as it is the current version available and the HyperMesh 13.0 Certification exam will not be available in some time.
Thankyou

Can we treat this as a HyperMesh problem and try to solve it? I am using HyperMesh 14.0 which I think is quite capable to handle these kind of stuffs and maybe I don't know how? I just want to the rib's bottom edge moved to the yellow line? Maybe you can refer my problem to a more experience professional?

Hello,
This feature of selecting a fixed point on the fly by selecting a line is not available from 14.0.
For this exercise there is a workaround.
First go to 'Geom>>point edit' and create a point on the line to which you want to shift the surface to.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Then go to 'Geom>>midsurface>>final edit tools>>assign target'
Select the triangular surface to move, then select the both points.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Hope this helps.
Thankyou
