Associative model update Simsolid/Onshape

Hello,

Is it possible to update a model in Simsolid with an existing analysis? We have a large existing analysis with a lot of conditions (custom contacts, loads, etc.), and this must be updated with a model revision made in Onshape. We use Onshape professional and Simsolid Power (desktop).

If I understand you correctly, here what you should do:
– open existing Simsolid project. This project has one baseline design study, and, perhaps, some other design studies
– bring into the project revised assembly from Onshape. The assembly will be placed into new design study. For parts in new design study which are the same as in the baseline all loads, constraints, and connections are automatically inherited as they are in the baseline.
– due to the geometry revision some boundary conditions and connections may become incomplete and set in red in the project tree – be careful to check them

You can assign any design study as a baseline. Then next time you bring revised geometry in, new design study will inherit boundary conditions and connection from the new baseline.
