Mesh suddenly taking ages to load
Hello,
I've recently encountered a problem while trying to load a mesh. My analysis file used to take about 1 minute to load (surface mesh and small hexcore volume mesh) but recently it took almost three HOURS. It seems to be hanging on the reading elements stage. When it did finally load I deleted all comps and saved a test file. My test.hm (should be empty) was still 800kb+ in file size. When I launched HM and saved a blank file it was close to 500 bytes. What is being stored in my file? Is there any way to clean out that (potentially) corrupt data?
I'm using HM 11.0.0.132 and do not have the option to upgrade to 12 at the moment.
Thanks for the time, hope you have some ideas.

Hi,
Try to export your 'small' model to HMASCII Format (export->solver deck->HMASCII, option: all). Thats are a text format (including all geometry and hidden entities).
Take a look for datas (maybe you can compare it with a empty deck). Often there are meta datas (e.g. from CAD - Imports, colors ...).
You can try to delete the unneeded datas and import the file as HMASCII.

Mario

Thank you Mario, that's must have been what was slowing me down. Somehow I had a ton of accumulated metadata, I deleted it and reimported my model. Seems to be back to normal.
Thanks again for the help.
