i am doing linear static analysis of engine piston. i have applied pressure on the top face but finding problem in getting the information about contraints in it.. someone plz help

also wanted to know why we divide the total pressure by no. of nodes(( as per physics pressure gets applied on an elemental area.. it means we -should apply the value of total pressure at all points

In general, the pressure is applied over surface (geometry or element surface). The solver will convert applied pressure into nodal forces to solve.

    Hi,

Assign piston into a cylindrical system and constrain radial dof for nodes on the side, z dof at bottom.

You should apply pressure on elements face instead of nodes.

If you divide force by number of nodes then apply to nodes, margin nodes may get higher reformed than inside ones
