Hello,

I imported a model in parasolid format. After import, a part of model gives WARNING G13816 - face-face inconsistency.

When I tried to union these parts, I get another Error 16504:

Attached log file specifically mentions following:

  1. How can this warning and error be avoided?
  2. Additionally I want the union of these parts to be translated to origin and rotated 90 degree about x-axis. This operation seems to be extremely slow. Is there a faster method?

I have attached the model and log file both.

Thank you,

FieldForcer

    Hello,

The warning indicates that there are issues with your CAD and I would recommend that you use the CAD healing tools on the transform tab to try to heal the CAD before trying operations on the CAD (such as union).

I can't look at the model, since it indicates that the two cfx files are corrupt. Try uploading again?

    Hi JIF,

I have tried healing tools, but Error 16116 remains.

    I will re-upload cfx file.

If CAD healing does not help, sometimes I end up having to recreate one or more faces (I only do this for faces that I can easily re-create). But, until I see the model, I can't take a look.

    Hi FieldForcer,

The file size of 650 MB indicates a very complex structure. I will have a look and see if I can recommend something. In general, for extremely complex structures an external mesher may be better than the internal FEKO mesher. External meshing tools like HyperMesh offer a lot of powerful tolls for simplifying/de-featuring geometry.

    Hi FieldForcer,

There are only two faulty faces in your model. I copied them and deleted them from the original part. After unioning the faces and the origibnal part again the part is fault-free.

The model can be downloaded here: https://securefiletransfer.altair.de/link/ZHfgEDvz7uVl9n1IK83Fm8

PS: In the file you uploaded a 3.2 GByte (!) out file was included, which obviously does not belong to the model.

    Hi Torben,

Thank you for your reply. I will import the model, and take a look into it. I couldn't reply earlier, because I didn't get notification of your reply on my email.
