Hi, I have a question about C-3.1 Infinite cylinder from Feko ExampleGuide. When i change the media from Pec to dialectric i become an error in runfeko. Why doesnt it work?

    Hello bobo44,

     

    I have logged an issue to ask the developer what the reason for the error is and once I have an answer, I'll provide you with the reason. However, as the error suggests, the problem can be avoided by changing the periodic spacing. I changed it (variable h) from lambda/2 to lambda/4 and then it solves without problems. (Note: I used FEKO 2017.1.2 - latest available version, but the result should be the same for older FEKO versions.). Note that changing from lambda/2 to lambda/4 does not change the model, since it is infinitely periodic and thus it still models an infinite cylinder.

    The developer has responded with the following: The formulation using the Ewald transform breaks down when the spectral term becomes infinite.

     

    At least there is an easy way to work around the problem of the Ewald transform formulation.
