Hi all

Imagine you have a cyclinder in shell and the two end edges are red, since they are connected to only one edge, they can not be resolved changing the tolerance .mostly the toggling works when there's gap between  two edges of two adjacent surfaces. what is the strategy for these two surfaces?

    Hi,

Free edges are normally found around the outer perimeter of a part or around openings within the part. Free edges within a field of elements typically indicate a discontinuity within the mesh which needs to be connected. Those edges found on the part perimeter (in this case two end edges of the cylinder) are normal.

You can go through HM-3300: Checking and Editing Mesh tutorial in Help Menu which deals with free edges in a model.
