Hi,

I want to simulate with metal material including the loss. I'm not sure how I setup the metal on metal material such as copper. When I see the copper properties in Altair media library, there is zero magnetic loss tangent. This is first time I considering the metal material loss because my simulation shows a lot of reflection by metal surface. How I can define the metal loss?

    Hi Leo

See the ExamplesGuide model of the dipole and lossy metallic cuboid for how to construct a lossy metallic surface.

    Thanks Mel.

I just want to make sure... Do you mean 'Set the conductivity of the metal to 1e2.' is enough to simulate lossy metal condition?

    Hi Leo

You will set the conductivity to your material of choice. There is a media library as well that you can choose from, e.g. copper, gold, aluminium, etc.

Then you must also specify the thickness.
