Hi,

I´m trying to perform a non linear simulation simplifying  screws using beams.

I need to create a contact between the beam and the plates that are being linked, but I don´t know how to do it.

It is necessary tu use a pcontx11?

In this case, it is possible to include it in a non linear quasi-static analysis with pretension?

And finally is Pcontx11 implemented in optistruct V14?

Could you help me,

Thanks,

I think you can use RBE3 to transfer contact forces from screw (beam) to hole on shell

    Hi,

PCONTX is used for nonlinear geometric analysis. You can use PCONT with large displacement analysis,

But if it is for transferring force, please check the answer suggested by Mr. @tinh

if not, Can you explain the objective of the analysis?

    Thank you for your answer.

I have used rbe3 for the cuasi-static analysis to transfer shear loads from the plate hole to the beam. To do it I needed to divide te beam in 3 beams in order to use the middle beam nodes as a dependent node for the rbe3. So there is no continuity in the beam.

My purpose is to calculate the Shear stress  of the beam with  its pretension load and a static load applied in the structure.

In the images the 3 parts beam an the rbe3 are represented with a deformed shape.

    I think this served the purpose :)/emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20'>

I would like to calculate the shear stresss in the beam, Nevertheless the  load step output (stress ,ALL) represents only the 1d  axial and longitudinal stress contour. It is possible to get the beam shear stress?.  My beam is created in 1d bar element as a Cbeam with the property of pbeam.

    Hi,

Please use PBEAML instead of PBEAM. The results in the image are from PBEAML

    Thank you Prakash,

Could you give me more information about the process to obtain the results?

I have change my property to PBEAML(rod section) as showed in the image below. I also have activate the output stress in the load step card. But I cannot plot the shear 1d stress contour from the contour panel in hyperview.

    Thank you Prakash,

I see that it is possible to get shear stress just in case that all  of the beams are PBEAML. Otherwise the results are not plotted.

Yes, Make sure you have PBEAML instead of PBEAM for all 1Ds of interest,
