Is there a cursor in the plots (showing the value of a certain point)? I want a way to move the mouse and get an interactive data read out of the values in a given plot trace.

Yes, there is. Ctrl+right mouse on the plot to get the dialog below:

Click the Read Coordinates button enter mouse cursor read out mode. The mode is exited when the left mouse is clicked again. Check the option Snap to Data to restrict the mouse cursor movement to the nearest data point.
Retain Coordinates will cause the last coordinate to remain on the plot face.
Clicking the Read Coordinates button a 2nd time with Retain Coordinates enabled will cause the readout to include a difference between the current cursor and the cursor remembered from the last coordinate read session.
