spliting faces to apply load

hi,

to do the static analysis i usually use this procedure

1]do the part in solidworks, split the required faces to apply load.

2]then import it to hypermesh, mesh it. then export it in abaqus format to ansys.

3]then do the analysis in ansys. 

 

the problem is,

when i import it into FE modeller in ansys. thee ansys will not show the split geometry i had created in solidworks. because of which i couldn't apply the required load on the specific part in the geometry.

kindly someone give suggestion so that i'll be able to solve this problem.

    Split your faces within Hypermesh. Make your mesh and prepare some sets of nodes/faces/elements for your loading.

    Finally define your loading overs sets above.

    I have no ANSYS here to test. But this method works well with SAMCEF/Nastran/LS-DYNA/Optistruct,...
