    Hello,

    You can delete any surface in HM using the delete option (F2) then select surface from the drop down and select the surface and click on delete entity.

    For problems during analysis can you please tell me which solver you are using?

    Thankyou

    thanks for your reply, it is a shared surface between two bodies.I divided the body by using the trim with the plane option.I am using Optistruct as a solver.I uploaded the image below.

    If you are using OptiStruct, i don't think there will be any problem during Analysis.

    But if you still want to delete the surface you can follow the above stated procedure.

    Thankyou

    I want to repair the elements which don't have good element quality(aspect ratio, skew, jacobian) in the 2d mesh.How can I clean the mesh

    I am doing on optimization using Optistruct.For non-design space is it ok to split in that area you mentioned.

    what about quality checks like aspect ratio, Jacobian, skew.

    For design space you can simplify your geometry.

    For TRIA3 mesh, you not need check Jacobian (always = 1).

    For TRIA3 mesh, I check often :

    • aspect <= 5
    • connectivity
    • duplicates
