shell element "constraint"

Dear All,

 

I want mesh with 2D element for sheet metal part (dynamic analysis problem), should the meshing size at least four time the thickness of sheet metal?  if there any link that i can read it would be helpfull.

Hi Prakash,

 

You said it would not be a problem with linear static analysis. what about the impact loading? some people said it would error generation.

Hi,

 

For impact, crash or any explicit analysis, characteristic element length is a parameter to calculate time step.
