Optimise a parameter for bandwidth

Hi there,

I want to optimise S11 of an antenna over a certain bandwidth, but the Optimisation solver will only allow a single frequency point.  How can I get it to optimise so that S11 is less than, say, -10 dB between two frequencies?

Thanks

Francois

    Hi @dfvisser

You should be able to use an optimisation mask to do this. Refer to the 'Optimisation Masks' section in the Feko User Manual.

There is also an example with model files on the HyperWorks Insider page that might be of help, see https://insider.altairhyperworks.com/microstrip-filter-optimisation-using-masks/.

    Kind regards

    Madelé

    Hi @dfvisser

Alternatively, you can look at using HyperStudy (part of the Hyperworks package) - which will allow you to use a Lua script to calculate custom optimisation goals. I already have some scripts for calculating bandwidth if you decide to go this route.

Thanks, I misunderstood mask usage and optimiser setup.  I had a continuous frequency range instead of a range of discrete points.  It is working now.

    Glad you got it working!
