G12 undefined

Hi,

I've made a composite model using MAT8 material. I've run an analysis without filling the G12 field and got results despite.

My question is what value does the program use for G12 if you left it blank? I assume it uses something as there is no Default value according to the Reference Guide, but I couldn't find anything on this topic.

OptiStruct doesn't take any default value for G12 in MAT8 card.Please refer attached MAT8 card.

Thank you Rahul, but as I said I know it doesn't take any default value. I'm trying to figure it out if the program calculates a G12 from given E1, E2, nu12 values? And if it does what method it uses?
I only gave the mentioned three parameters (E1, E2, nu12) but the simulation run succesfully.

Could you please let us know the HM and OptiStruct version you are using at your end ? I see some issues reported earlier related to MAT8 G12 entries.Are you using Hypermesh 2017.2.1 ?

Also in Altair Connect Me it says I have 2017.2.4 installed, both from HM and Optistruct.

This seems to be issue in HW Desktop 2017.3 also..If I don't define G12 it still takes 0.0 or If add some value and later delete that value,still it writes G12 value in .fem deck.

Will check this internally.
