Young's modulus of composite material

I have come across composite model where the material data for E1 and E2 are same.

Correct me if I am wrong,To my knowledge the young's mod of fiber direction will be considerably higher than the matrix direction.

So,why is that the E1 and E2 are same for composite analysis.

    In fact you have E1, E2 & E3 in 3D space. So maybe E1=E2 but different E3. It's possible.
